We were camped on the water early in the spring when I painted this sunrise with clouds churning on the horizon. I love to use watercolors painted plein air (at the moment in real life) to sort of lock the scene into my mind. These watercolor studies can stand alone but often serve as fodder for larger oil paintings. This one was professionally scanned so I could make prints which have proved to be popular.
